About Us

Who We Are
We are believers in Jesus the Christ, who gather as a church in the Hamlet of Owasco to worship God Almighty. We are not a country club, nor are we an entertainment center just trying to entertain people. We are part of God’s church, called out to worship Him in spirit and truth. As part of God’s church we can be recognized by a few biblical elements: we gather weekly in obedience to God’s call to worship Him corporately, through expository preaching, corporate prayers, sacraments and confessions.

We are a reformed church, adhering to the ancient Christian statements of faith (the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed). Being reformed we affirm the historic Christian faith as revived during the Reformation – the five solas…

1. Sola Scriptura – God’s Word alone is our truth and standard
2. Sola Fide – Justification by faith in Christ alone
3. Sola Gratia – Salvation by God’s grace alone
4. Sola Christus – Salvation in Christ’s work alone
5. Sola Deo Gloria – All things for the glory of God alone

and the Reformed confessions that reaffirmed the apostles teaching after Christ’s resurrection, as found in these documents, The Heidelberg Catechism, The Canons of Dort, and the Belgic Confession.

What We're About
Confident in the work of Christ on the cross, we go about our lives, giving God glory in all that we do, be it in our community, our work place, our faith community. We are engaged in making disciples, and loving our neighbors. We pray that we grow in boldness, and in confidence to announce the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. We hold to a high view of Scripture being the Word of God and central to our “doing of life”.

We are thankful for the Hamlet of Owasco and surrounding area, and welcome whomever God draws to us, into worship and discipleship of our Good God.
